And We Live Here Why????
It is friggin freezing out there.
It's New Year's Day and the temperature is struggling to make it above 10 degrees.
It's days like this I jealously think of all you intelligent people who live in warmer climates and I wonder what the hell I'm doing here.
Anyway back to reality...
My first mission today was to load the girls into the Explorer and take em up to Mickey D's for Chicky Bicky's and McGriddle's for breakfast. (These pictures are from a trip earlier this fall, it was too cold to get the camera out today)
With that mission accomplished I was able to get back out to the boat. I only had a little bit of beadboard left to install on the head wall and then I figured to get a coat of paint on the newly installed boards.
Here's some pictures of the port side before paint.

And for something a little different, here's a video walk through after the paint job today.
Just hit the play button for a tour.

I can see how the conglomeration of all of your previous work experiences have just suddenly collided and dispersed onto this project! Dr. Paint,Wacky Wado the entertainer, handyman at large...and so much more! I'm impressed with the handy work.
Want more proof that the Farkle brothers are more alike than previously thought? Well, look no further!! The fact that working on a boat is found to be RELAXING to both?!?! Whodathunk it!
You've taken "show and tell" to a higher level! Farkle1 is proud, I am sure.

I am so glad that you have done quite a bit to the boat since Dan & I were there. It's also amazing how much had to be worked on to have it done correctly. Keep up the good work, and take care of each other.

Mary,
Thanks for taking the time to comment. I'm starting to get into the fun part of the reconstruction now. Most everything that I do now makes the boat look more finished. I spent a lot of time working on structural stuff that doesn't show but it had to be done.
I can't wait to get into the plumbing and electrical. That will be a learning experience.
Where are you located?
Wado

Hello, Like my friend Danny said when he sold me my boat sight un-seen, sunk "...a few simple hand tools and a few weekends hard work and you too can be a happy yacht owner!" That was Jan. 1983, still got her, run her as a tourist attraction at Fisherman's Wharf, SF.
I know you'll have lots of fun on her. Keep up the good work. Here's to your good health!

Hi there Wado,
I'm in Alabama in Demopolis, restoring a '73 Boatel Tadewinds and going through the same process that you have.
Good job on what I've seen and good luck. Would love to see finished or up to date pics if you have them to send...

Ahoy Alabama,
Thanks for taking the time to comment. I should have some new pics in the next couple of weeks. We have had company and I have had to work a lot lately so I haven't been able to spend a lot of time on the project. I've got some good stuff coming though so check in again. Good luck with your project. Send me some pics if you get a chance.
